An event was held on Wednesday to celebrate a major expansion of the Monsey eruv at Good Samaritan Hospital.
The most recent project, started after Pesach, expands the Eruv boundary on two fronts.
The entire Route 59, as well as the Bikur Cholim House, is now within the Eruv boundaries, which ends a block past the hospital at Woodland Drive.
In addition, the Montebello area is now connected as well.
Organizers of the expansion project thanked the property owners in the area who allowed them to expand the Eruv in the area surrounding their properties.
They also thanked the staff of Good Samaritan for their assistance with putting up additional chain link fencing around the parking and around the entire property circle.
“It was an honor to celebrate the expansion of the eruv at Good Samaritan Hospital today. The eruv will help patients, their families and our entire community. Thank you to the Monsey Eruv’s staff for their hard work and Good Sam for being a welcoming place of healing for our community” said Town Of Ramapo Supervisor Michael Specht.
Separately, an additional two new expansions to the Monsey Eruv have been recently completed.
The first covers the eastern side of Route 45, Old Nyack Turnpike, Scotland Hill Road, Yeshiva Noam Elimelech, and the surrounding area. The second is a new Rambam’s Eruv at Garden Estates. To stay in the Eruv’s boundaries, use the North Riguad Road steps entrance.
Note that the Rambam’s Eruv does not cover some parts of Viola Road and or Union Road.
