Emergency Services Teams Enhance UTV/ATV Operations and Safety Skills at Spring Hill EMS

Emergency personnel from Spring Hill EMS, the Rockland County Sheriff’s Department, Clarkstown Police Department, and New Britain Emergency Medical Service Paramedics gathered on Sunday for a specialized Emergency Services UTV/ATV Operations and Safety Instructor Course led by a VFIS Instructor Trainer.

The course provided intensive training on safe UTV/ATV operation, vital for emergency responses in challenging terrains. Attendees also learned to become certified safety instructors to pass on this crucial knowledge to future first responders.

Spring Hill EMS expressed gratitude to Former NY State Senator Elijah Reichlin-Melnick for securing a grant that enabled them to acquire a new UTV/ATV, enhancing their response capabilities.

The successful training was a collaborative effort with the Ramapo Office of Emergency Preparedness (OEP) and VFIS, highlighting the importance of interagency cooperation for emergency personnel’s safety and preparedness.
