Elijah Reichlin-Melnick Brings NYS Senate Majority Leader Stewart-Cousins To Visit Rockland Community

On Monday, New York State Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins toured various locations in Rockland County, following an invitation from Elijah Reichlin-Melnick, who is running for state senate. The tour included notable stops at community institutions and aimed to highlight local services and community efforts.

The tour began at Pupa Girls School in Spring Valley, located on North Main Street, where Majority Leader Stewart-Cousins met with students and faculty, learning about the school’s educational programs and community involvement.

Then she visited Good Samaritan Hospital, specifically the new Labor and Delivery Department. There, she was introduced to the team and toured the state-of-the-art facilities. She also had the opportunity to meet with Hatzoloh EMS of Rockland County.

The tour was attended by several Ramapo elected officials, including Ramapo Town Supervisor Michael Specht, Ramapo Chief of Staff Mona Montal, Rockland County Legislator Aron Wieder, Village of Spring Valley Deputy Mayor Yisroel Eisenbach, Village of Pomona Deputy Mayor Mendy Lasker, and community activists Mayer Tauber and Shimmy Singer.

Additionally, the Senate Majority Leader held a private meeting with the Rockland Jewish Alliance to discuss critical issues, including the challenges facing local school districts and the rise of antisemitism across the county.

Elijah Reichlin-Melnick expressed his gratitude for Majority Leader Stewart-Cousins’ visit, telling Monsey Scoop, “I’m grateful to State Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins for accepting my invitation to visit Ramapo this afternoon. It’s important to me to fully and fairly represent every part of Rockland and having the opportunity to welcome Leader Stewart-Cousins to see first-hand the richness of the community in Ramapo made today very special. When Rockland County has a strong voice in Albany, who can bring the most powerful leaders in New York State to see our County’s needs, all of our communities benefit. I look forward to returning to Albany to fight for Rockland County and working with the Majority Leader to deliver results for the entire community. Thank you to the Pupa Girls School and Good Samaritan Hospital for welcoming us today.”

The day concluded with a fundraiser event in Wesley Hills, which will be covered in a separate article by Monsey Scoop.
