Election Night Results: Victories in Airmont, Chestnut Ridge, Pomona, Montebello, and New Hempstead

The results are in for the local elections held across Rockland County today, and it was a clean sweep for all candidates featured in the race.

Airmont Election Results

Incumbent trustees Shimon Moses and Isaac Weiss have been re-elected to the Airmont Village Board, securing another term. Additionally, Alan J. Straus has won re-election as Airmont Village Justice. The final voter count in Airmont totaled 516 in-person votes, with an additional 3 absentee ballots, bringing the final tally to 519 votes. Voter turnout at Ramapo Town Hall was steady throughout the day.

Pomona Election Results

In Pomona, the Pomona United slate celebrated victory as Marc (Moshe) Greenberg and Mordechai (Mendy) Lasker won re-election as village trustees. Greenberg received 178 votes, while Lasker secured 151 votes. Additionally, 53 write-in votes were recorded in the trustee race. Results were reported from Pomona Village Hall following a day of steady voter turnout.

Chestnut Ridge Election Results

Voters in Chestnut Ridge have elected Rosario (Sam) Presti as mayor with 648 votes, defeating a write-in campaign that received 35 votes.

For the Trustee positions:

  • Shmuli Fromovitz won Position 1 with 654 votes, while write-in candidates received 33 votes.
  • Chaim Rose secured Position 2 with 657 votes, with 33 write-ins recorded.

In the Village Justice race, Walter Sevastian won with 631 votes, while write-in candidates received 32 votes.

Polling at Chestnut Ridge Village Hall saw strong participation throughout the day.

Montebello Election Results

Montebello voters elected three officials for four-year terms in their village government. David Rose secured a trustee seat with a decisive 237 to 0 victory. Uce Egenhauser was also elected as a trustee, receiving 164 votes, defeating a write-in candidate who garnered 34 votes. Meanwhile, Kenneth Gobetz won the position of Village Justice with 177 votes, while 6 write-in votes were recorded.

New Hempstead Election Results

In New Hempstead, Marc Schiffman won the election for village trustee. A total of 50 votes were cast, with 48 votes for Schiffman and 2 write-in votes recorded. Voting at New Hempstead Village Hall wrapped up at 9:00 p.m.

With election night results confirmed, these newly re-elected officials are set to begin or continue their terms, shaping policies and governance in their respective villages.
