Eat Fresh and Support Local: Rockland County’s Farmers’ Markets Open for the Season

Rockland County officials are encouraging residents to “Eat Fresh. Shop Local.” as farmers’ markets and farm stands open across the county, offering a wide selection of fresh, locally grown produce and handmade goods throughout the summer and fall.

Shoppers can find everything from fruits and vegetables picked at their peak to local honey, eggs, flowers, baked goods, and artisan items. Several locations accept food assistance benefits including FMNP, SNAP (EBT), and FreshConnect checks.

Here’s a guide to the 2025 Farmers’ Markets and Farm Stands in Rockland County:

Fridays, 12 PM – 4 PM; Saturdays, 10 AM – 2 PM (Through November 29)

“Shopping at our Farmers’ Markets not only provides fresh, healthy food but also supports local farmers and benefits the environment by cutting down on packaging, refrigeration, and long-distance shipping,” said Dr. Mary Leahy, Rockland County Commissioner of Health.

Residents are also encouraged to learn about eligibility for food assistance programs, including:

  • FMNP and SFMNP: Nutrition checks available for WIC participants and low-income seniors aged 60+

  • SNAP (EBT): Monthly food benefits for low-income households

  • FreshConnect Checks: Available to veterans, active-duty military, and eligible family members
