The East Ramapo Central School District announced a significant new initiative designed to prioritize the safety of their students as they travel to and from school each day.
In collaboration with key community partners, including the Town of Ramapo Police Department, Spring Valley Police Department, AAA, New York State Department of Motor Vehicles, and the Rockland County Department of Health, the District is ramping up efforts to enhance school bus safety.
As part of this initiative, they encourage all parents to ensure their children watch the informative bus safety video, which highlights essential safety tips provided by law enforcement partners. This video is a critical resource in our shared mission to keep their students safe.
Their partnership extends beyond just the video. The District, together with these dedicated professionals, is offering extensive school bus safety training that emphasizes the importance of proper behavior in maintaining a safe environment. This initiative includes coordinating bus safety drills, organizing bus safety fairs, and engaging directly with students about safe passenger and pedestrian practices.
Additionally, the District is implementing mandatory training sessions for our contracted bus drivers and introducing new safety teams to enhance oversight and support throughout the school transportation process.
By working closely with community partners, East Ramapo is committed to ensuring that every student arrives at school and returns home safely each and every day.
