East Ramapo Central School District Budget Approved on Second Attempt

In a decisive vote, the East Ramapo Central School District (ERCSD) budget was passed on its second attempt after being previously rejected by voters in May. According to the results posted by the school board late last night, the revised budget was approved by a narrow margin, with 1,245 votes in favor and 1,082 votes against, representing just over thirteen percent of the voters.

The newly approved budget includes a 1% increase in the tax levy, allowing the district to spend $331 million. This plan will also necessitate the use of reserve funds to meet financial requirements.
