On Isru Chag Pesach, dozens of yidden gathered at the Har Shalom Beis Hachaim in Airmont to commemorate the second yahrtzeit of renowned singer and baal menagen, R’ Michoel Schnitzler z”l.
The Yahrtzeit began on Motzei Pesach and continued late into Monday night. Family members, rabbonim, fellow singers, and close friends came to pay tribute at his kever, sharing memories and drawing strength from the melodies he left behind.
A large tent was erected near the kever to accommodate candle lighting and tefillos, creating a heartfelt atmosphere of reflection and song. All this was arranged by R’ Michoel’s close friend, composer Motty Attias, who devoted tremendous effort to ensuring a meaningful and uplifting experience.
Among the many participants were the Spinka Rebbe of Airmont and Harav Moshe Yaakov Horowitz son of the Spinka Rebbe of Williamsburg, both attending to honor the memory of a man whose music brought comfort and chizuk to Yidden worldwide.
