DEVELOPING: Man Found Dead with Bag Over Head at Children’s Park in Chestnut Ridge; Ramapo Police Launch Investigation

Authorities are investigating a tragic discovery made early this morning at Children’s Park in the Village of Chestnut Ridge. Around 6:50 a.m., Ramapo Police were alerted by Rockland County 9-1-1 about a man found unresponsive along the park’s walkway.

The grim scene was reported by a passerby who spotted the individual, believed to be in his fifties, lying motionless on the ground with a bag over his head and bloodied fingers. Emergency responders promptly arrived at the location on Grotke Road and confirmed the man was deceased.

Ramapo Police have launched an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the man’s death. At this time, Chevra Kadisha services will not be needed.
