UPDATE – 11:30AM: Police have confirmed that the residence at 13 Tamar Drive has been cleared and no injuries were found. Authorities say the incident was a hoax / swatting call after a false report claimed that two family members had been shot.
The Rockland County REACT Team (SWAT), Clarkstown Police, Rockland County Sheriff’s Office, New York State Police, and multiple EMS units had responded to the scene before confirming the call was unfounded.
Police continue to investigate the source of the swatting incident.
A major police response is underway in Valley Cottage after a disturbing call to authorities reported that a man had shot two family members and threatened to kill anyone who came near his home. The incident is centered at 13 Tamar Drive.
The emergency unfolded on Monday morning at approximately 10:20 AM, when the alarming call came in to police.
The Rockland County REACT Team (SWAT), Clarkstown Police Department, Rockland County Sheriff’s Office, New York State Police, and EMS units from Nanuet and New City all rushed to the scene. Emergency personnel have established a perimeter around the residence as law enforcement officials work to assess the situation and ensure the safety of nearby residents.
