Delegation of Israeli Officials, Including Knesset Member and Senior Advisors, Visits New Square

A distinguished delegation from Eretz Yisroel visited the Village of New Square on Sunday, part of a broader effort to strengthen ties with Jewish communities abroad and explore successful models of community development and governance.

The group included one Knesset member, along with numerous senior advisors to Knesset members, top aides to municipal leaders, and several elected officials from cities and villages across Israel. The majority of the delegation consisted of city council members and policy advisors involved in shaping public services and infrastructure in their respective municipalities.

The visit began with a tour of Refuah Health Center, a leading medical facility in the region known for delivering high-quality, culturally sensitive healthcare to the greater Monsey area. Delegates were given an overview of Refuah’s operational structure, patient care model, and community outreach efforts—many taking note of strategies that could be applied in underserved areas across Israel.

Following the visit to Refuah, the group was welcomed into the home of the Skvere Rebbe Shlita for a private audience. The meeting focused on issues of communal leadership, education, and preserving spiritual values while navigating modern challenges. The Rebbe offered words of guidance and encouragement.

The final stop was at the New Square Village municipal building, where Mayor Izzy Spitzer greeted the delegation and provided an in-depth overview of how the village is run. The group received insight into New Square’s municipal systems, local governance, and infrastructure, gaining practical knowledge and ideas that could be adapted to improve services and organization in towns throughout Israel.

The visit concluded with a warm reception and food served at the Village building, allowing the delegation to interact with local officials and community members in an informal setting. Many described the visit as inspiring, educational, and filled with valuable takeaways for use back home.
