County Executive Ed Day Announces $870,500 ARPA Funding for Rockland County Comprehensive Plan Update

Rockland County Executive Ed Day, along with Acting Commissioner of Planning & Public Transportation Doug Scheutz and ARPA Director Jenna Nazario, has approved the allocation of $870,500 in American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds. This substantial investment will be directed towards an agreement with Buckhurst Fish & Jacquemart Inc., a New York-based firm, to spearhead the update of Rockland County’s Comprehensive Plan.

The update, managed by the County’s Department of Planning, aims to address the evolving needs and future growth of the county. The funding marks a significant step towards ensuring that Rockland County continues to develop in a sustainable and strategic manner. The partnership with Buckhurst Fish & Jacquemart Inc. is expected to bring expert insights and innovative planning solutions to the project.

County Executive Ed Day emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating, “This funding will allow us to create a comprehensive plan that reflects the needs and aspirations of our community. It’s an investment in the future of Rockland County.”
