Congressman Mike Lawler Successfully Resolves Over 3,500 Constituent Cases

Today, Congressman Mike Lawler (NY-17) proudly announced that his office has successfully resolved more than 3,500 cases brought forth by residents of New York’s 17th District and their families. The diverse array of cases includes assisting veterans in obtaining long-awaited benefits, expediting passport processing for hundreds of families, and establishing a new passport facility within the district. Additionally, Lawler’s office has helped immigrants, including spouses and family members of U.S. citizens, to secure green cards or renew visas, and advocated with the IRS for the prompt issuance of overdue tax refunds. The office has also been instrumental in obtaining Social Security and Medicare benefits and safely returning constituents from Israel, Haiti, and various other countries.

“Nothing is more important than serving the constituents I was elected to represent. That includes not only my work on their behalf in Washington, but also the important work being done in our district to serve Hudson Valley families,” stated Congressman Lawler.

“I’m so thankful to my hardworking district staff, without whom none of this would be possible. From day one, they have worked arduously to resolve the many individual casework needs brought to our attention – helping veterans receive benefits payments they were due, helping relatives return home from dangerous situations overseas, helping taxpayers receive long-awaited refunds or resolve tax disputes, helping seniors in our community receive Social Security or Medicare payments, expediting passport or green card processing, and so much other important work that impacts the lives of my constituents,” he continued.

“I know how frustrating it is to wait for a federal government service when you are on a deadline and have so much else going on,” Congressman Lawler concluded. “I’m so glad we have been able to help so many residents across our community, making their lives a little bit easier. I encourage all my constituents, if you have need of assistance in dealing with a federal agency or service, please don’t ever hesitate to reach out. We are here to help!”
