Congressman Mike Lawler Highlights $1.3 Million Orangetown Sidewalk Project {VIDEO}

Congressman Mike Lawler has released a new video highlighting the $1.3 million he secured for the Orangetown Sidewalk Improvement Project as part of the Fiscal Year 2026 appropriations package for New York’s 17th Congressional District.

The funding will support new sidewalks, curbs, and drainage improvements in Pearl River to enhance pedestrian safety, improve accessibility, connect neighborhoods, and support local businesses. In the video, Lawler said strong communities are built through investments that bring people together and emphasized that safer sidewalks and quality infrastructure help ensure Orangetown remains a place where families can live and thrive.

Orangetown Supervisor Teresa Kenny thanked Lawler, noting that the sidewalk project began in 2015 but could not be completed because of its scope. She said the improvements are especially important for children, seniors, schools, and houses of worship, and will make the community significantly safer.

Monsey Scoop previously reported on the full FY26 appropriations package, which included this funding along with several other major investments across New York’s 17th Congressional District.
