Congressman Mike Lawler Earns Highest Bipartisanship Rating in New York, Ranks Sixth in U.S. House

Congressman Mike Lawler has received one of the highest bipartisanship ratings in the U.S. House of Representatives, according to the latest Bridge Grades report examining the 119th Congress.

Lawler, who represents New York’s 17th Congressional District, earned a Bridge Score of 99.2 out of 100 and an “A” grade, ranking sixth among the 424 House members evaluated. The score was also the highest awarded to any member of New York’s congressional delegation.

Bridge Grades, a nonpartisan project of the Mediators Foundation, evaluates lawmakers using third-party data measuring bipartisan legislative activity and whether members govern collaboratively or divisively. The latest report reviewed congressional activity from January 2025 through June 2026.

“From my first day in Congress, I’ve believed that the people of the Hudson Valley sent me to Washington to solve problems and to be an effective legislator for the folks I represent,” Lawler said. “I’m honored to receive this recognition, and I’ll continue putting the interests of New York’s 17th District ahead of arbitrary political games.”

Lawler previously ranked seventh in the House in Bridge Grades’ April 2026 report. During the 118th Congress, the Lugar Center and Georgetown University’s McCourt School of Public Policy ranked him as the fourth-most bipartisan House member, while the Center for Effective Lawmaking named him the most effective freshman lawmaker.

  1. Bipartisanship still matters.

Congressman Mike Lawler has been recognized as one of the most bipartisan members of Congress, proving that real leadership means working across the aisle to deliver results.

At the local level, Joe Rand has shown the same approach-putting community first and working with Republicans and Democrats alike to get things done.

Results over rhetoric. Cooperation over division.
