Congressman Mike Lawler announced that U.S. citizens currently in Israel can now register for EL AL recovery flights to return home, following coordinated efforts between the U.S. State Department, U.S. Ambassador to Israel, the Israeli government, and EL AL Airlines.
“I’m proud to have worked with the State Department, the U.S. Ambassador to Israel, and our Israeli partners to ensure safe passage for American citizens,” said Lawler. “Thank you to all involved in making this possible.”
The U.S. Department of State has officially begun assisted departure flights from Israel. U.S. citizens and Lawful Permanent Residents currently in Israel or the West Bank who are seeking government assistance to depart are urged to complete the Crisis Intake Form. Those who have already filled out the form are advised not to submit it again. Additional instructions are available at the State Department’s travel advisory page.

Lawler also emphasized the importance of enrolling in the State Department’s Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) to receive critical safety updates and assistance from nearby U.S. embassies. Travelers can enroll at: https://mytravel.state.gov/s/step.
