Congressman Mike Lawler has reintroduced legislation to rename the U.S. Postal Service facility at 86 Main Street in Haverstraw, as the “Paul Piperato Post Office Building.”
Paul Piperato, a dedicated public servant, served as Rockland County Clerk for 15 years, implementing numerous initiatives to enhance county services. His contributions included the development of a state-of-the-art computer imaging system, the launch of an accessible 24/7 online records portal, and the introduction of the highly acclaimed Veteran Discount Program, RETURN THE F.A.V.O.R. Additionally, Piperato played a pivotal role in preserving Naturalization Ceremonies for new citizens and expanding digital services with eFiling and eRecording programs.
“Paul dedicated over three decades to public service, serving as Rockland County Clerk and spearheading innovative programs that continue to benefit the community today,” said Congressman Lawler (NY-17). “This bill is a small token of appreciation for his hard work, leadership, and passion for serving others.”
Lawler emphasized that Piperato’s unwavering commitment to the residents of Rockland County left a lasting impact. “Paul’s legacy as a leader, public servant, and advocate for both veterans and Rockland County residents will continue to inspire future generations. By renaming the Haverstraw Post Office in his honor, we seek to recognize his lifelong dedication to public service.”
