Congressman Lawler and Chaverim of Rockland Partner with American Red Cross for Smoke Detector Installations in Monsey

In a collaborative effort to bolster fire safety in the community, Congressman Mike Lawler teamed up with the American Red Cross and Chaverim of Rockland to provide free smoke detector installations in local homes. This initiative is part of the “Sound the Alarm” campaign, which is dedicated to equipping residences throughout Rockland County with essential fire prevention tools.

Highlighting the life-saving importance of smoke alarms, Congressman Lawler encouraged residents lacking working smoke detectors to seek assistance. “Smoke alarms save lives; they’re critically important,” Lawler remarked, urging those in need to contact the American Red Cross or Chaverim for a complimentary installation. “This program is free of charge. So if you need help, please reach out to the American Red Cross or Chaverim, and we will make sure that you get a free smoke detector installed in your home,” he continued.

The partnership between the American Red Cross and Chaverim of Rockland for the “Sound the Alarm” initiative, previously reported by Monsey Scoop in December, focuses on offering free smoke alarm installations across Rockland County. This effort is aimed at enhancing community safety and preventing fire-related incidents.

To request a smoke alarm installation, residents can contact the Chaverim of Rockland Office at 845-371-6334 ext. 1 or contact the American Red Cross.
