Senator Bill Weber has concluded his annual Winter Coat Drive, collecting a total of 8,122 pounds of winter clothing and footwear across the district to help residents stay warm during the cold months.
On Tuesday, Senator Weber accompanied by Clarkstown Supervisor George Hoehmann and Councilmen Michael Graziano and Bob Axelrod dropped off assorted winter essentials at the MLK Center. The final stop of the drive took place on Wednesday, when Senator Weber delivered nearly 1,000 pounds of coats, shoes, and other winter wear to Kupas Ezra.
The latest delivery brought the overall total to more than 8,000 pounds donated through the community-wide effort.
