On Monday, the Community Security Initiative (CSI) held a Pre-High Holiday Security Zoom meeting, bringing together key community leaders and law enforcement officials from Rockland County. The meeting focused on safety measures and preparedness ahead of the upcoming Jewish High Holidays.
The virtual briefing featured Town of Ramapo Supervisor Michael Specht, Haverstraw Police Chief John Gould, and Yossi Margaretten, Coordinator of Chaverim of Rockland, and Rebecca Director of the Intel Desk at the Community Security Initiative who all emphasized the importance of vigilance and collaboration to ensure the safety of the community during the holidays.
The session was led by Ethan Erlich, Regional Security Director of CSI and Director of Security for the Jewish Federation of Rockland County, who provided an overview of security challenges and the steps being taken to enhance regional safety.
In a statement to Monsey Scoop, Erlich emphasized the importance of collaboration. “The safety of our community during the High Holidays is a top priority,” he said. “Through collaboration with local law enforcement and community organizations, we are making sure every possible precaution is taken to protect our synagogues and communal spaces.”
The Community Security Initiative continues to work closely with local leaders to ensure heightened security protocols are in place as the holidays approach.
