Clarkstown Receives Highest Credit Rating in Rockland County from S&P

Clarkstown Supervisor George Hoehmann announced that Standard & Poor’s (S&P) has reaffirmed the Town of Clarkstown’s “AA” bond rating — the highest credit rating in Rockland County — while maintaining a “stable” financial outlook.

In its annual report, S&P recognized Clarkstown for its continued fiscal strength and strong management practices. The agency praised the Town’s efforts to seek new revenue sources through forward-looking planning, proactive budgeting that ensures long-term operational balance, and a consistent record of operating surpluses while maintaining manageable debt levels.

Supervisor Hoehmann noted that this reaffirmation reflects the Town’s ongoing commitment to responsible fiscal management and transparency. “Clarkstown remains well positioned to secure low interest rates,” he said, “delivering real value for our taxpayers today and into the future.”
