Clarkstown Police Sergeant Scott Rios Retires After 26 Years in Law Enforcement

After more than 26 years of dedicated service in law enforcement, Clarkstown Police Sergeant Scott Rios is retiring from the Clarkstown Police Department.

Sergeant Rios began his career with the New York City Police Department (NYPD) in August 1998 before joining the Clarkstown Police Department in August 2001. His dedication and leadership earned him a promotion to sergeant in 2010, a role in which he continued to serve with professionalism and commitment.

Throughout his career, Sergeant Rios played a pivotal role in shaping the Clarkstown Police Department. He served as an instructor at the Police Academy and coordinated the Field Training Officer (FTO) program, mentoring and guiding new officers. His influence extended beyond training, as he was an active member of the Clarkstown Police Benevolent Association (PBA) board, further demonstrating his commitment to the department and his colleagues.

The Clarkstown Police Department, along with the Clarkstown community, expresses deep gratitude for his years of service and dedication. As Sergeant Rios embarks on his well-earned retirement, he leaves behind a lasting legacy of mentorship, leadership, and unwavering commitment to public safety.
