Clarkstown Police Hosting Free Car Seat Safety Check This Sunday

As part of National Child Passenger Safety Week, Clarkstown Police are raising awareness about the importance of proper car seat, booster seat, and seat belt use to keep children safe while traveling. Parents and caregivers are urged to ensure children are in the correct seat for their age, size, and developmental stage.

A free car seat safety inspection will be held on Sunday, September 28, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Nanuet Fire Department Substation, located at 11 Renee Lane in Bardonia. The event is by appointment only, and families are encouraged to reserve a spot through the following link: Clarkstown Car Seat Safety Appointments.

Certified technicians will be on hand to review safety features, explain weight and height requirements, and provide best practices related to child car seats and overall vehicle safety.

Officials note that additional dates will be offered in the future for those unable to attend this weekend’s event.
