Clarkstown Police Highlight School Bus Enforcement as Part of ‘No Empty Chair’ Campaign

As part of New York State’s No Empty Chair campaign, the Clarkstown Police Department focused Thursday’s efforts on Operation Safe Stop, targeting drivers who illegally pass stopped school buses.

This specific enforcement action is one of several initiatives being carried out throughout the week to raise awareness and ensure student safety ahead of prom and graduation season.

With an estimated 50,000 illegal passes occurring daily statewide, police are reminding drivers that when school bus lights are flashing red, they must stop — no excuses, no exceptions.
