Clarkstown Police Detective Chris Maloney Retires After 28 Years of Service

After more than 28 years of dedicated service, Detective Chris “C.L.” Maloney has officially retired from the Clarkstown Police Department.

Maloney began his law enforcement career with the department in July 1996, quickly taking on key roles as a Field Training Officer (FTO) and School Resource Officer (SRO). His commitment to youth safety and mentorship led to his promotion to detective in 2007, when he was assigned to the Juvenile Aid Bureau. In this role, he specialized in handling cases involving child victims, juvenile offenders, and missing persons, playing a crucial part in protecting the most vulnerable members of the community.

For the past decade, Maloney also served as the Director of Youth Court, a peer-based diversion program designed to adjudicate first-time juvenile offenders in a constructive and educational manner. His leadership in the program has had a lasting impact on many young lives.

The Clarkstown Police Department and the local community extend their deepest gratitude to Detective Maloney for his years of service and unwavering dedication. As he steps into retirement, he leaves behind a legacy of commitment, mentorship, and public service.
