Clarkstown Police Department Responds to Two Separate DWI Incidents on Sunday

On Sunday, shortly after midnight, the Clarkstown Police Department responded to a two-car accident on Route 59. Officers arriving at the scene determined that a 46-year-old male driver from Tarrytown had failed to stop and collided with the rear bumper of another vehicle. The driver was found to be intoxicated and was subsequently arrested. He was transported to the CPD headquarters, processed, and is scheduled to appear in Clarkstown Justice Court at a later date.

Later that morning, just before 4:00 a.m., officers were dispatched to reports of an overturned vehicle on Germonds Road in New City. Upon arrival, they found the vehicle’s operator and sole occupant, a 22-year-old male from Spring Valley, already out of the car. It was determined that he was also driving while intoxicated. The individual was taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation, then arrested, processed at CPD, and released with an order to appear in Clarkstown Justice Court in the future.

The Clarkstown Police Department continues to emphasize the dangers of driving while intoxicated and remains committed to keeping the community safe.
