Clarkstown Police Department Honors Detective William F. Conklin on Anniversary of Line-of-Duty Death

The Clarkstown Police Department is honoring the memory of Detective William F. Conklin, who tragically passed away in the line of duty on September 16, 1971.

Detective Conklin suffered a fatal heart attack while executing a search warrant during a narcotics investigation. His sudden passing underscored the immense stresses and dangers that law enforcement officers face daily.

“Detective Conklin’s dedication to our department and to the Clarkstown community was unparalleled,” the department stated. “His professionalism and sense of duty remain the cornerstones of how we operate today.”

Detective Conklin’s sacrifice is memorialized on the National Officer Down Memorial Page, which continues to honor the bravery and commitment of fallen officers nationwide.
