Clarkstown Police Department Honors Detective Brian Michel Upon Retirement

The Clarkstown Police Department has announced the retirement of Detective Brian Michel, marking the conclusion of a distinguished career in law enforcement that spanned more than three decades.

Detective Michel began his career with the New York City Police Department (NYPD) in 1993, serving in the 48th Precinct, the Bronx Task Force (BXTF), and later as a Sergeant in the 32nd Precinct. In 2002, he transitioned to the Clarkstown Police Department, where he quickly became a respected and integral member of the force.

Over the years, Detective Michel held several critical roles within the department. He was a member of the Clarkstown Police Department’s Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT), served as the department’s sketch artist, and represented the force as part of the Honor Guard. His leadership and expertise were further recognized in 2014 when he was promoted to detective and assigned to the Crime Scene Unit, where his meticulous investigative work played a crucial role in solving complex cases.

Most recently, in 2023, Detective Michel was assigned to the DEA Task Force, where he remained committed to enhancing public safety and combating crime. His dedication and professionalism have left a lasting impact on the department and the community he served.
