Clarkstown Police Department Announces Promotions of Two Veteran Officers Lt. Cortelli and Sgt. Mendez

Clarkstown Police Chief Jeffrey Wanamaker announced the promotions of two long-serving and dedicated members of the Clarkstown Police Department.

Sgt. C. Cortelli, who has dedicated over 21 years to the department and most recently supervised the Street Crime Unit, has been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant. Lt. Cortelli’s extensive experience and leadership have been invaluable to the department, particularly in his work overseeing street crime operations.

Detective G. Mendez, who brings 17 years of commitment to the department, including recent responsibilities in the Detective Bureau, has been promoted to the rank of Sergeant. Sgt. Mendez has consistently demonstrated exceptional investigative skills and dedication to the safety of Clarkstown residents.

Both Lt. Cortelli and Sgt. Mendez will now serve in the Patrol Division, where they will continue to uphold their commitment to protecting the community with professionalism and integrity. The department extends its congratulations to both officers on their well-deserved promotions.
