Clarkstown Police Announce the Passing of Beloved Retired K9 Remy

The Clarkstown Police Department is mourning the loss of retired K9 Remy, a loyal and courageous partner who served the department with distinction and honor.

K9 Remy faithfully worked alongside his handler, retired Officer Reekie, dedicating his career to protecting both fellow officers and the Clarkstown community. Known for his bravery, loyalty, and unwavering commitment, K9 Remy was a true asset to the force.

He was named in memory of Welles Remy Crowther, the heroic “Man in the Red Bandana,” who gave his life on 9/11 rescuing others in the South Tower. That spirit of heroism lived on in Remy throughout his years of service.

After retiring from active duty, K9 Remy remained a cherished member of the Reekie family. His presence and companionship continued to be a source of comfort and pride.

The Clarkstown Police Department extends its heartfelt condolences to retired Officer Reekie and his family. K9 Remy’s legacy of service and sacrifice will be remembered with deep appreciation and respect.
