Chestnut Ridge Sidewalk Project Coming to Pinebrook Road Following $1M Federal Funding Secured by Congressman Mike Lawler

Residents of Chestnut Ridge can expect new sidewalk improvements along Pinebrook Road as part of a federally funded pedestrian safety initiative secured by Congressman Mike Lawler.

Chestnut Ridge Deputy Mayor Chaim Rose and Village Trustee Shmuli Fromovitz recently met on Pinebrook Road with Town of Ramapo engineers and the project contractor to review plans and discuss the upcoming sidewalk installation project.

According to village officials, the improvements are part of a larger $1 million federal funding package secured by Congressman Lawler for sidewalk and pedestrian safety enhancements throughout the village. The funding is being administered through the Town of Ramapo.

Village officials also expressed appreciation to the Town of Ramapo, which will oversee and carry out the project, as well as Ramapo Supervisor Michael Specht, Ramapo Chief of Staff Mona Montal, and Ramapo Highway Superintendent Fred Brinn for their work in helping advance the long-awaited pedestrian safety improvements.

Construction preparations are currently underway, with officials saying additional details regarding timing and the start of work will be shared with residents once finalized.

Village officials thanked Congressman Lawler for securing the funding, calling the project a critical investment in pedestrian safety and infrastructure for the community.
