CHESTNUT RIDGE: Monsey Fire Dept and Rockland County Hazmat Respond to Propane Tank Fire and Leak on Hearthstone Lane

The Monsey Fire Department responded to a report of a propane tank leak on Hearthstone Lane in Chestnut Ridge on Monday morning at approximately 10:35 a.m.

Upon arrival, firefighters discovered that the propane had ignited but was no longer actively burning. However, an active gas leak was still present near the steps of the residence. The Rockland County Fire Hazmat team was called in to assess the situation and ensure there was no further danger.

Ramapo Police and Faist EMS also responded to the scene. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. Authorities remained on-site to secure the area and mitigate any potential hazards.
