Chesed 24/7 was honored last week at New York City’s Annual Jewish Heritage Reception, receiving the prestigious Mayor’s Service Award in recognition of its unwavering support for patients and their families. Representing the organization, Reb Shulem and Chavy Greenberg accepted the award on behalf of Chesed 24/7 for their tireless dedication to providing care and comfort across hospitals in Manhattan and beyond.
The event, hosted by Mayor Eric Adams at Gracie Mansion, drew prominent Jewish community leaders and dignitaries, including the Mayor of New Square, Izzy Spitzer. In her address, Mrs. Greenberg described the powerful impact of Chesed 24/7’s hospitality rooms—safe, welcoming spaces stocked with food, drinks, and comfort for anyone in need during difficult hospital stays. She emphasized how these simple acts of kindness help ease stress, restore calm, and uplift those facing medical challenges.
Mrs. Greenberg concluded by thanking Mayor Adams for his steadfast support of Chesed 24/7 and the wider Jewish community, enabling the organization to continue its mission of round-the-clock compassion and care.
