Chaverim of Rockland Search and Rescue Team Rescues Injured Hiker at Kakiat Park

A 17-year-old female hiker was rescued Sunday afternoon after sustaining an injury in the wooded trails of Kakiat Park.

At approximately 2:15 p.m., the Chaverim of Rockland Search and Rescue (SAR) team swiftly mobilized to locate and assist the injured hiker. Upon reaching her, trained Search and Rescue volunteers administered first aid before safely carrying her out of the woods.

Once safely removed from the trail, the hiker was transported by Hatzolah of Rockland for further medical care. The Rockland County Sheriff’s Office and New York State Parks Police were also on the scene, assisting with the rescue operation.
