In a swift and life-saving response, Chaverim of Rockland NightWatch units, alongside Hatzoloh EMS and the Monsey Fire Department, rushed to a home on Eagle Street early Wednesday morning after dangerously high carbon monoxide (CO) levels were detected inside.
The emergency unfolded around 3:00 a.m. when some children in the home began experiencing symptoms of CO exposure and the carbon monoxide alarms began ringing. First responders arrived within minutes, assessing the situation and ensuring the safety of all occupants. Hatzoloh EMS volunteers evaluated and treated those affected on-site, while Orange & Rockland Utilities was called to investigate and address the source of the leak.
Thanks to the rapid intervention of Chaverim’s NightWatch unit, a potentially tragic outcome was averted. Officials remind residents of the importance of functioning carbon monoxide detectors, as early detection can mean the difference between life and death.
