Chaverim of Rockland is entering 2026 on the heels of its busiest year ever, after responding to a record-shattering 68,838 calls for service in 2025, surpassing the previous high of 64,135 calls in 2024.
Throughout 2025, Chaverim’s volunteers and dispatchers were called upon for far more than roadside assistance. The organization played a key role in missing-person searches, large-scale search-and-rescue operations, crowd control at major incidents, and assisting law enforcement with investigations, suspect locations, scene security, and arrests. Thousands of additional calls involved emergency lockouts, breakdowns, welfare checks, and urgent community needs.
Operating around the clock and in all conditions, Chaverim worked hand-in-hand with local police departments and emergency agencies, providing critical manpower and logistical support during fast-moving and high-risk situations.
As Rockland County moves into 2026, the record-setting numbers underscore the organization’s growing responsibility in safeguarding the community—and the extraordinary dedication of the volunteers who answer the call without hesitation.
When emergencies strike, Chaverim of Rockland continues to stand ready—24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Chaverim is good for flat tires, dead batteries and stuffed toilets. The should STAY AWAY FROM ANY EMERGENCY SERVICE things. In fact they should take ‘EMERGENCY SERVICES’ off their name and signage!
Thanks for the hate mr Berman
And a big thank you for Chaverim of rockland for everything you guys do
Who will the fire department call when they need to relocate all residents of a nursing home at a structure fire? Who will Hatzolah call when they need assistance with a lift assist? Who will the police call when they need assistance with traffic control? Who will the sheriffs department call when they need to rescue people stuck in car on a flooded road? And on and on….. The list is endless… Rockland County relies on Chaverim of Rockland 100% when it comes to certain emergency situations. There is no other agency in the county that has the amount of Manpower that Chaverim has at a moment’s notice.
No hate here. Just telling the truth. You and them are afraid of hearing the truth. They are a bunch of wannabees! Mr. Margareten is the biggest one!
Chill, chill. Chaverim isn’t trying to replace police or EMS. They help where they’re asked and work with the proper authorities.
Yes, they do everyday stuff, but they also step in when extra hands are needed. No need to tear down volunteers who are just trying to help the community.
This is what real community service looks like. The professionalism, coordination, and selfless dedication of Chaverim’s volunteers is beyond impressive. Thank you for always being there.
Where there is negativity towards an organization, then we know that the organization is diing very well. Otherwise, no one is jealous.
That’s over 188 calls per day.
