In light of the recent attacks by Hamas on Eretz Yisroel, local Police Departments—including those from Ramapo, Spring Valley, Suffern, Haverstraw, Clarkstown, and Stony Point, in collaboration with the Rockland County Sheriff and NY State Police—have bolstered their security measures across Rockland County.
While there are no verified threats to Rockland County or its neighboring regions at present, the authorities are taking proactive measures. Chaverim of Rockland announced an augmentation in their Shabbos patrols this weekend. This enhancement will be in addition to their regular weekly Shabbos surveillance.
Residents of the area are encouraged to be vigilant. “We urge all residents to stay alert. If you notice anything unusual, please report it immediately,” reads the statement from Chaverim of Rockland. The sentiment echoes the broader public safety message: “If you see something, say something.”
For emergencies or to report suspicious activities, individuals are asked to contact 911 and Chaverim of Rockland at 845-371-6333.
Moreover, Chaverim’s Coordinator Yossi Margeratten tells Monsey Scoop that Chaverim will have a pronounced presence patrolling in marked Chaverim patrol cars throughout the day on Friday. This is an effort to provide added reassurance to the community during these trying times.
