In a momentous achievement that reflects their dedication to community service, Rabbi Shmuel Gancz and his wife Devorah of the Chabad Jewish Center of Suffern, along with Deputy Mayor of Montebello Stacy Caridi, celebrated reaching the milestone of baking 12,000 challahs for local residents since 2020.
The Ganczes and Caridi have been diligently baking challah each week and distributing the bread throughout the local community. This week, they were joined by Congressman Mike Lawler to commemorate the occasion and lend a hand in braiding and baking the challahs.
Congressman Lawler, enthusiastic to contribute, praised the initiative and its impact on fostering community ties. He braided and baked alongside the group, noting how such acts of kindness strengthen neighborhoods.
