BUSTED: Suspect Breaks Into Car at Walmart Across from Ramapo PD—Then Runs Toward the Police Station

A suspect made a series of questionable decisions on Tuesday afternoon when they broke into a vehicle parked outside the Walmart in the Town of Ramapo—directly across the street from the Ramapo Police Department headquarters.

According to police, the incident occurred during the department’s shift change, with officers present both inside and outside the building. To make matters worse for the suspect, they reportedly fled in the direction of the police station following the crime.

Adding to the department’s swift response capabilities, Ramapo PD utilized its “Drone as a First Responder” program to assist in tracking the suspect.

Police say the case remains under active investigation.
