The Monsey Fire Department reported handling 1,396 emergency calls in 2025, the highest fire call volume of any department in Rockland County.
Throughout the year, each incident averaged approximately 25.9 minutes, with about 15.7 members responding per call. In total, Monsey FD members logged 567,655 minutes of active emergency service, equal to 9,460 hours on scene during the year. These figures do not include training, Rest & Comfort (RAC) operations.
Supporting emergency operations around the clock, Monsey Fire Communications operates 24/7 with 19 volunteer dispatchers. Most dispatchers contribute an estimated 500 hours of dispatching annually, ensuring rapid call handling and coordination for emergencies across the district.
The 2025 figures highlight the scale of emergency activity handled by Monsey Fire Department and the significant time commitment made by its volunteer firefighters and dispatchers throughout the year.

Proud or not. This is the fact, that shows how busy this department is and able to provide the help on every call. Unlike other departments we are neighbors that can’t cover 300 calls a year and have to rely on Mutual aid and still have calls rolled.
The Volunteers in Monsey Fire Department are heroes we should be very proud with them.

Monsey Fd, Dept 7, is by far the best dept in Rockland. Best trained, best equipped department in the County. Keep it up!
