This afternoon around 6:00 p.m., a large brush fire erupted along Rock Hill Road, near Old Nyack Turnpike in Spring Valley. Residents reported that it took a considerable amount of time for fire departments to arrive on the scene, causing concern as the blaze intensified.
Once on scene, firefighters Chaverim Of Rockland and other emergency personnel worked quickly as the flames spread, threatening nearby structures, including the exterior of a residential home. Emergency responders ramped up efforts to protect the property as the fire continued to burn out of control.
Fortunately, after a coordinated response, firefighters managed to bring the massive brush fire under control. While officials are assessing the full extent of the damage, there have been no reports of injuries at this time.

I live right across the street from this. The fire department took about twenty-five minutes to get there, because the person who called said it was a brush fire, while really it caught onto the back porch of the house you see in the picture, and it caught on to some trees.
