The Stamford Police Department said that their investigation into the homicide led them to a 53-year-old suspect at 300 Tresser Boulevard. Just before 4 pm, officers observed the suspect walking from the residence, and they approached him on Canal Street underneath the MTA train overpass.
When the suspect saw the cops nearing him, he pulled out a gun and put it to his head, firing one shot and collapsing to the floor.
Police immediately provided first aid to the suspect, and he was transported by EMS to Stamford Hospital, where he was pronounced dead minutes later.
