A person was struck and killed by a train in Spring Valley, Monday night. Sources tell Monsey Scoop that the victim, a 47 year old male, was struck and killed by a train at approximately 9:30 PM on Dutch Lane in Spring Valley. This is the second person struck by a train in Spring Valley in just two weeks where Spring Hill EMS responded.
Upon receiving the call, Spring Hill EMS, Spring Valley Police and Rockland Paramedics rushed to the scene to provide urgent medical assistance. Due to the severity of the patient’s injuries, a medevac was swiftly dispatched to Spring Valley High School, with the intention of airlifting the victim to Westchester Medical Center for advanced medical care.
The medical helicopter arrived promptly, but the situation took a turn for the worse when the flight crew began working on the helping the victim he went into traumatic arrest, prompting EMS to rush him by ambulance to the Nyack hospital.
Despite their valiant efforts, tragically, the patient succumbed to his injuries shortly after arriving at the hospital.
The identity of the victim has not been released to the public yet, pending notification of his family.
Authorities are investigating this incident.
