BREAKING: Monsey Fire Department to Launch New Dispatching Operations on Motzei Shabbos

In a significant development for the community, the Monsey Fire Department will commence operating its own dispatch system beginning this Motzei Shabbos to supplement the existing dispatch service from the Town and County. This milestone comes after 2 years, 6 months, and 28 days of dedicated effort. The new Monsey Fire Communication Hotline number is 845-425-9300.

Starting this Motzei Shabbos, the hotline will be manned by dispatchers 24/7. These dispatchers have undergone rigorous training to ensure they can serve the community effectively in times of need. They are fluent in both English and Yiddish to accommodate the diverse linguistic needs of the community.

Calls from the Monsey Fire Department’s area will be dispatched directly to its members while keeping the County’s 44 control fully informed at all times. If a call mistakenly comes from another department’s district, it will immediately be sent to 44 Control which will notify the appropriate department.

This achievement is largely credited to the tireless work of many individuals, spearheaded by Monsey Fire Commissioner Yankee Fliegman. In a statement to Monsey Scoop, Commissioner Fliegman expressed his gratitude: “First of all, thank you, Hashem, for getting us here. It was a lot of hard work. I want to thank the commissioners, the chiefs, the leadership of the Brewer Fire Engine Company, the Rockland County Sheriff Communication Office, Sheriff Falco, Chief of Communication Adam Feuer, and many others who played a crucial role in this accomplishment.”

The list of individuals Commissioner Fliegman thanked includes:

  • Current and Former Monsey Fire Commissioners: Avigdor Mandel, Yoely Lebowitz, Shimshon Gross, Shimmy Singer, Eli Spitzer, Motty Neiman
  • Monsey Fire Chief Hugh Jacobson, 1st Assistant Chief Andrew Schlissel, 2nd Assistant Chief Ben Frommer, and Captain Moshe Messner and Lieutenant Eli Ribowsky.
  • Brewer Fire Engine Company President Mike Humphrey, and Vice President Uzi Kamensky
  • Public Affairs Director of the Monsey FD Yossi Gestetner
  • Ramapo Supervisor Michael Specht and Town Chief of Staff Mona Montal
  • Congressman Mike Lawler and District Director Rafi Silberberg
  • David and Joey Gottlieb from Goostown Communications
  • Vito, Jerry, Cleo, Mike and Pinto from Goostown Communications

  • Ramapo retired-Chief Martin Reilly, Chief Daniel Heiman, Captain Lee, Sergeant Sanchez

The new dispatching operations are a testament to the Monsey Fire Department’s commitment to enhancing its emergency response capabilities and better serving the community.
