NANUET: Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Train Near Nanuet Station; Investigation Underway

A fatal train incident unfolded Wednesday afternoon near the Nanuet train station on Prospect Street, where a pedestrian was struck and killed by a passing train.

Emergency personnel from Nanuet EMS, Clarkstown Police Department, and Rockland Paramedics responded swiftly to the scene. Despite their efforts, the individual was pronounced dead shortly after their arrival, Chevra Kadisha services aren’t needed in this tragic incident.

In the wake of the incident, Prospect Street has been closed in both directions as authorities secure the area and initiate a formal investigation. According to MTA officials, the Pascack Valley Line is currently experiencing delays due to the ongoing response and scene management.
