Early Thursday morning, a structure fire broke out at the Orangetown Shopping Center near Oak Street. The fire, which originated in a spa, rapidly engulfed the premises, prompting a swift and comprehensive response from multiple emergency services.
The Orangeburg Volunteer Fire Department led the initial response, quickly joined by the Tappan Fire Department, Blauvelt Volunteer Fire Company Inc., Sparkill – Palisades Fire Department, Excelsior Fire Engine Company No. 1, Piermont Fire Department, Central Nyack FD, West-Nyack Fire Department, Nanuet Fire Department, Old Tappan Volunteer Fire Company No. 1, River Vale Fire Department, South Orangetown Ambulance Corps, Orangetown Police Department.
The coordinated efforts of these agencies ensured that the fire was brought under control, preventing further spread to adjacent businesses. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported at this time.
