Beit Shemesh Mayor Shmuel Greenberg recently hosted Mona Montal, Chief of Staff to Ramapo Supervisor Michael Specht, during her visit to Israel. Montal, a well-known community leader, participated on behalf of the Town of Ramapo, representing its growing and vibrant Jewish community.
The meeting is part of an ongoing initiative to deepen the relationship between Beit Shemesh and Ramapo, with both municipalities exploring collaborations in education, welfare, community development, and urban growth. Beit Shemesh officials presented several innovative projects and highlighted joint initiatives already being developed between the two communities.
Discussions included expanding philanthropic support for local educational and social programs, and creating direct partnerships between institutions in Beit Shemesh and in Ramapo. Both sides emphasized their shared values and the strong cultural ties that connect the residents of the two municipalities.
Mayor Greenberg stated, “Beit Shemesh is the heart of thousands of immigrants and family members of New York Jews. We are working to deepen the connections and lead many joint projects for the benefit of all residents of the city.”
Ramapo Supervisor Michael Specht told Monsey Scoop: “We deeply value our warm and longstanding relationship with Beit Shemesh. Strengthening these ties benefits both communities, and we are excited about the opportunities ahead. We look forward to welcoming the Beit Shemesh delegation to Ramapo in February for a special visit and an official re-twinning ceremony that will further solidify our partnership.”
A delegation from Beit Shemesh is scheduled to visit the Town of Ramapo this coming February, where both municipalities will participate in a renewed twinning ceremony, marking the next chapter in this growing international friendship.
