Monsey Scoop regrets to inform you of the Petira Reb Isaac Schwartz Z”L, the longtime Rosh Hakohol of Pupa Monsey, at the age of 94.
Originally from Brooklyn, Reb Isaac Z”L relocated to Monsey in the 1970s. There, alongside a devoted group of Pupa talmidim, he played an instrumental role in establishing the Pupa kehillah in Monsey. His dedication was recognized by the previous Pupa Rebbe ZT”L, who officially appointed him as Rosh Hakohol—a role he held with unwavering devotion for over 50 years. Throughout his tenure, Reb Isaac Z”L maintained a close relationship with the current Pupa Rebbe Shlita.
Under his leadership, the Pupa kehillah in Monsey flourished, growing from a small group of dedicated chassidim into a thriving community. The kehillah now flourishes with five shuls and a yeshiva system that provides education to thousands of children, a living tribute to Reb Isaac’s Z”L foresight and unwavering dedication.
The Levaya took place on Thursday at noon at the Pupa Beis Medrash on Suzanne Drive, with the Pupa Rebbe Shlita in attendance.
