Monsey Scoop regrets to inform its readers of the petira of Rabbi Chaim Zecharia Weitz, Z”L, a lifelong Monsey resident who was widely respected throughout the community. He was 61 years old.
Rabbi Weitz was the son of Rabbi Aaron Weitz, Z”L, founder of the ECHO organization. For many years, he continued his father’s legacy of helping others and was known as a trusted and caring presence for those facing difficult situations.
He was admired for his humility, refined character, and dedication to Torah and halachah. Friends and acquaintances recall a soft-spoken individual whose kindness and willingness to assist others left a lasting impact on countless people.
The levaya will take place today, Wednesday, at 1:30 p.m. at Ohr Somayach, 244 Route 306, Monsey.
Baruch Dayan HaEmes.
