BDE: Petira of Holocaust Survivor Reb Leib Ber Pollak Z”L

Monsey Scoop regrets to inform you of the Petira of Reb Leib Ber Pollak, a Holocaust survivor who endured the horrors of Auschwitz and went on to play a vital role in rebuilding the Viznitz and Klausenburg communities in Williamsburg after the war. He lived in Williamsburg for most of his life and, in his later years, resided with his son in Monsey.

The Niftar Z”L was a huge talmid chachom and a devoted chosid of the Baal Torahs Mordechai of Viznitz. Over the past year, he endured significant illness and suffering with remarkable strength and emunah.

He is survived by his son, Yoel Yakov Pollak, and his daughter, the wife of Rb Aron Fieg.

The Levaya will take place on Sunday evening at the Viznitzer Shul on Phyllis Terrace, at 6:30PM.
